Games

Group Games

Whether it's a birthday party, a camp-out with your Girl Scout or Boy Scout Troop, or a family reunion, check out these group games that teach communication and teamwork!

Catch the Dragon's Tail: Assemble children in a straight line with their hands on the shoulders of the person in front of them. Blindfold the person in front and put a bandana(or something similar) in the back pocket(or waistband, etc) of the person in the rear. The goal is for the "head" to catch the "tail" and for the "dragon" to stay intact. When the goal is reached, the "head" moves to the "tail" and the game continues. (NOTE: Best played outside or on softer flooring. Adults should be placed around the room to act as "spotters", so kids don't run into anything.)

Lap Sit: Arrange kids in a circle with each child faceing the back of the person in front of them. Move the circle inward so all the children are touching. This is where good communication comes in! If one person sits down before the rest, everyone falls over. Done right, all the children will end up sitting on the lap of the person behind them.
