Uncle Kracker Heads Out On Happy Hour Tour
He did a brief tour with Train last fall, but Thursday, March 11, Uncle Kracker hits the road for a headlining tour in support of his current CD, Happy Hour. It's Kracker's first album in five years, and he's thrilled that the first single, "Smile," has been doing so well.
The tour kicks off in Kracker's home state of Michigan and keeps him on the road through the beginning of May. Kracker says when he plays live these days, he's surprised by the wide variety of people who come to see him -- they're all ages and from all walks of life, from little girls to tough biker dudes. Kracker says, "It is all demographics, and now with the new record, it seems like a whole new generation, starting over again. It's almost scary to think that I've been making records that long!"
In addition to hits like "Smile," "Follow Me" and "Drift Away," Kracker says he may perform a couple of other songs that he normally wouldn't do, such as "When the Sun Goes Down," a duet he did with Kenny Chesney that was a smash on the country charts, and "All Summer Long," Kid Rock's 2008 smash, which he co-wrote. Speaking of Kid Rock, Kracker will join his former boss on his upcoming "Chillin' The Most" fan cruise, which leaves April 29th from Tampa, Florida and goes to Grand Cayman.
